Registration or renewal of the LEI code is subject to a fee and the price list may vary between registration agents and LOUs operating in the Member States. In order to provide the LEI code to the service provider or the counterparty of the transaction, it is not necessary to provide a certificate or other reproducible proof of the existence of the LEI. The status of the LEI code and the data submitted to the register can be checked on the GLEIF website or using the LEI European validation tool.
